Rhinoplasty Seattle: How Long Does It Take To Recover After Rhinoplasty?

By December 1, 2020 No Comments

A rhinoplasty surgery, also known as a nose job, is one of the most popular plastic surgeries among young people. It is also one of the leading plastic surgeries in men. With any cosmetic surgery, patients want to know the recovery time and how to minimize it, if possible. How long does it take to recover after rhinoplasty?

The answer will likely vary for every individual patient. Younger patients with no major medical conditions may be able to return to most normal activities within a week. Other patients may take two weeks. In general, Dr. Santos will remove the splint at your one week post-operative appointment. Therefore, most patients take a week off work.

At one week, the majority of bruising should have subsided. For some patients, it may be completely resolved. Any leftover bruising can usually be easily covered with makeup. The length of time it takes to recover will also depend on your specific surgery. A closed rhinoplasty will not take as much time to heal as an open rhinoplasty.

Typically at the two week mark, patients can return to their full daily lives, including most exercise. Depending on your exercise routine and lifestyle, Dr. Santos may advise you to continue to avoid certain activities for a number of weeks.
