NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY IN SEATTLE AND TACOMA

Rhinoplasty is a surgery that can balance out your nasal features and provide dramatic results. However, if you are mostly happy with the size and shape of your nose and only want to fill in a hump, or define the tip, a non-surgical rhinoplasty may be the perfect, minimally invasive alternative to full rhinoplasty surgery. You can achieve many of the same results you see after a rhinoplasty procedure with a non-surgical rhinoplasty. Seattle Plastic Surgery is happy to offer non-surgical rhinoplasty to the Seattle and Tacoma areas.

HOW DOES NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY WORK?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty uses dermal fillers to enhance the shape and appearance of the nose. Instead of undergoing general anesthesia, incisions, or stitches, a non-surgical rhinoplasty is non-invasive and only uses injectable products to give you the nose you want. Once your Seattle plastic surgeon injects the filler, they will then massage the filler into the correct position.

Normally, your cosmetic surgeon will inject hyaluronic type fillers. These fillers are often used for lip injections and are perfectly safe when injected by a qualified, board certified cosmetic surgeon. You can also find hyaluronic acid in many esthetic procedures such as chemical peels. This substance is part of some of the fluids already present in our body. Allergic reactions or rejections are extremely rare because of this. It is important to use caution if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and your plastic surgeon will advise to wait until after you are not pregnant or nursing anymore.

When you come in for your Seattle non-surgical rhinoplasty appointment, your plastic surgeon will begin by marking the injection points on your nose. They will review the plan with you as they do this to make sure you still feel confident in your procedure. Next, they will clean the injection sites before injecting the filler into the targeted areas of the nose.

A little filler goes a long way when it comes to a non-surgical rhinoplasty. Injecting the filler normally only takes a few minutes once your cosmetic surgeon verifies the sites and injects with careful precision. Once the filler is injected, your injector will gently use their fingers to move the filler into place and position it so that you see the results you want.

Does it Hurt?

For most patients, filler injections are relatively painless. We spread a topical anesthetic over the injection sites to ensure patient comfort throughout the entire process. Some fillers–like Restylane–contain an anesthetic in their formula. Fillers generally are not overly painful and you can expect little to no pain during and after the procedure.

How Long Does a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Last?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty in Seattle can last up to two years. It is highly dependent upon the filler you choose and your individual body chemistry. Some fillers also help naturally build collagen in the area, allowing your body to further fill in the hollow areas of the nose.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty is not a permanent solution. Some patients choose a non-surgical rhinoplasty to try out the look of their new nose before committing to a surgical nose job. If you’re looking for a more permanent solution, a traditional rhinoplasty may better serve your needs.

BENEFITS OF SEATTLE NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY:

There are many benefits to a non-surgical rhinoplasty in Seattle. Firstly, a non-surgical rhinoplasty does not involve any surgery (hence “non-surgical”). Your cosmetic surgeon will not need to use any incisions, stitching, or remove any tissue from the nose. This means that a non-surgical rhinoplasty is much less invasive than a rhinoplasty surgery and there is essentially zero risk of scarring.

Secondly, the procedure is performed in-office within an hour. You often can see results immediately (sometimes even as your surgeon is injecting). There is no cast or surgical tape like in a traditional rhinoplasty, meaning you do not need to worry about being out and about after the procedure.

Finally, the procedure is temporary and reversible. If you want different results or want to return to the natural shape of your nose, your plastic surgeon can easily dissolve the filler in-office. If you love your results, however, you do have to continue having injections to maintain the results, but many patients (especially those who cannot undergo traditional surgery), find this a mild drawback when considering the overall results of their non-surgical rhinoplasty in Seattle. All of these factors combined create a procedure with overall less risk than surgery.

HOW MUCH IS A NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY?

A Seattle and Tacoma non-surgical rhinoplasty costs $1,800 on average. Exact pricing will depend on the patient’s needs, as well as the type of filler and amount used. You can find more pricing information on our price list

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY IN TACOMA?

Since non-surgical rhinoplasty is a non-invasive procedure, most people are good candidates for a Tacoma non-surgical rhinoplasty. It is important to remember that some medical conditions may compromise your health after non-surgical rhinoplasty or vice-versa. When you come in for your consultation with your plastic surgeon, you must discuss your entire medical history so that your plastic surgeon can ensure every safety precaution is taken. The best candidates are:

  • In good general health
  • Seeking rhinoplasty for non-medical reasons
  • Realistic with their expectations for the procedure
  • Those who are not eligible for or do not want a traditional rhinoplasty surgery
  • Patients who do not want dramatic results

You May Need A Traditional Rhinoplasty If:

For some patients, a non-surgical rhinoplasty may not effectively treat their aesthetic or medical concerns. Because a surgical rhinoplasty uses fillers to accomplish its results, the procedure is limited in what it can treat.

For example, if you suffer from breathing problems due to a deviated septum, rhinoplasty can certainly help you alleviate this problem. However, this surgery involve the movement of cartilage and possibly bone to achieve the desired results which is only possible via surgery. This is almost never possible with a purely non-surgical rhinoplasty.

While a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a wonderful procedure for patients who only want or need subtle enhancements to their nose, a traditional rhinoplasty surgery remains the gold standard for those wishing to dramatically change the look of the nose.

    WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE?

Since non-surgical rhinoplasty is an injectable filler procedure, the recovery is nearly instant. You can resume your regular activities immediately after a non-surgical rhinoplasty, including returning to work. You may experience some minor swelling, tenderness, redness at the injection sites, and bruising. These side effects should subside quickly and on their own.

Any pain experienced usually does not hinder a patient’s daily life or require prescription strength painkillers to treat. While you do not have to take any time off or change your daily activities after your non-surgical rhinoplasty, it is always a good idea to take it easy after any cosmetic procedure to ensure good results.
