Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments
Botox® Cosmetic is a purified form of the botulinum toxin. Plastic surgeons have been using Botox for years, typically for the treatment of glabellar frown- lines. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, botulinum toxin injection is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the U.S., with millions of procedures done every year. Dr. Grenley may recommend a Botox Seattle for you if you have visible wrinkles around your forehead and eyes. Aside from its cosmetic purposes, Botox is used for therapeutic treatments that help reduce muscle spasms, headaches and excessive sweating.
Juvederm® is an injectable filler that has been FDA approved for the temporary correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Made with hyaluronic acid, Juvederm can reduce the appearance of wrinkles by restoring lost volume in the tissue. There are now several Juvederm Seattle products on the market, each designed to treat wrinkles that vary in depth. The latest formula contains the anesthetic lidocaine for better treatment comfort.
Hyaluronic Acid injections, such as Restylane or Juvederm, are a safe and non-surgical way to fill out facial lines and creases, and may also be used for facial contouring in areas such as the jawline, cheekbones, and depressions at the junction of the lower eyelids and cheek. These dermal fillers tend to last at least six months, and in some cases up to a year or more.
Latisse is a prescription medication that can help people grow longer, fuller darker eyelashes. Latisse received U.S. FDA approval in 2008 for the treatment of hypotrichosis, a condition of inadequate eyelashes. If you believe that your lashes are short or sparse, you may be a good candidate for Latisse. Many people, especially contact lens wearers in particular, don't want to apply mascara every day, but they would like to have fuller eyelashes. Clinical studies of Latisse showed that roughly 80 percent of users achieved a significant change in their eyelashes. Their eyelashes became significantly longer, darker and fuller.
